Why Not Add a KOI Pond in Your Garden? ...
By Aprille

Gardens often allow people to keep their bodies occupied and sometimes they are also a source of food. Many people take up serious gardening after they retire, since it can be a full time job in itself. It is possible to have a garden that is purely for relaxation as well. If you already have a garden in place and are wondering what else to do to it, then why not add a KOI pond in your garden?

These fish are amazingly beautiful and graceful. They start off so small, but can grow to be huge fish. There’s something very peaceful about watching the fish swim around in the water and hearing the water fall into the pond. These ponds can be as elaborate or as simple as you want. I’ve seen single ponds that take up only a few feet of area and multi-level ponds with waterfalls cascading into each one. This one was equipped with colored lights for the evening, which made it even more fascinating.

The lights actually attract more bugs for the fish too, so they greatly appreciated the illumination. People sometimes associate having ponds with an increase in mosquitoes. Well, the KOI will gladly take care of any mosquitoes that try to hatch in their pond, so you won’t have to worry about that.

Not only are KOI ponds relaxing, but they also raise the value of the property they are on. Real estate agents can use this attribute to lure potential buyers easier, which they greatly appreciate as well.

I find KOI ponds to be a fascinating addition to any garden. Whenever I hear the trickling sound of a waterfall, I immediately look for the man-made fish pond. Have you created a KOI pond before? What drew you to the idea of making a pond in your garden area? I’d love to hear your feelings on having a KOI pond in the garden.
