Gardening Tips for the Beginner ...

I love gardening and enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for this pastime with others. I’ve compiled a few gardening tips for the beginner and posted them below. I hope you find a way to bring gardening to your neck of the woods as well. It doesn’t matter where you live, as long as you have a few of the basic necessities.

Before you decide to start a garden, you’ll need to make sure you have room for what you are going to plant. For instance, if you live in an apartment, then it probably isn’t feasible for you to plant corn. Consider the area you have to work with or the space you have available. Most plants can be grown in 5 gallon buckets or other small containers.

You’ll need to be able to have the time to tend to your garden. Set aside at least a few minutes a day, otherwise gardening can be extremely overwhelming. It’s much easier to take 10 to 20 minutes a day to take care of your garden than it is to spend an entire day on the weekend trying to catch up. The size of your garden will also determine just how long you need each day, so even 10 minutes or less will be sufficient.

Read the instructions thoroughly on the seeds and plants you put into the garden. Some plants need lots of sunlight, while others only need a few hours. There is also a specific time of year when some plants can be placed in the ground. You’ll want to make sure that you aren’t planting something too early or you’ll end up having it die before you ever get to harvest it.

I know these gardening tips are very basic, but they are essential points to gardening that must be considered. Do you already have a garden where you are? What do you have planted in it? Feel free to share any additional gardening tips that you think a beginning gardener might benefit from.
