Black-eyed Susan Vine

The original gold version of this plant produces tiny blooms early on in the summer. Each flower resembles a wild Black-eyed Susan and lasts until the frost arrives. The vine and flowers are rather delicate. These beautiful vines add color to any trellis or fence they are planted next to. Besides the lovely gold hue, other varieties of this plant produce flowers in white, assorted pinks, and shades of gold and orange.

Amaranthus Towers

These plants are definitely an eye-catcher and a conversation-starter. The impressive blooms measure 16 to 20 inches alone, while the plant holding them upright measures a little over 3 feet in height. Available in green or red, these blooms look great in a vase of water or in a dried arrangement. Blooms appear in late summer and last until the end of fall.

Bells of Ireland

The 2 foot spike covered in lime green bells is an amazing sight. These sun-loving plants bloom towards the end of summer and are perfect for creating a dried flower arrangement or adding the blooms to a fresh cut bouquet. A single seed can create a plant measuring 3 feet tall and 9 inches wide.

Catchfly Angel Rose

For the perfect addition of color to any garden, plant these little beauties. Each 12 inch plant spreads outward to around 10 inches and emits magenta flowers measuring about 2 inches across each. If pink isn’t the color you are seeking then the blue variety might be more to your liking. Flowers appear at the end of spring and last until summer has finished.

Eyeball Plant

This plant does live up to its name. The blooms produced by this plant during the summer resemble eyeballs. They are olive-shaped blooms in yellow with a burgundy ‘pupil’ in the center of each golden ball. Each flower sits on the end of a thin stalk emerging from a dense growth of dark glossy leaves. It’s almost as if the plant is staring at you!
