Mara Des Bois Strawberries

If you like strawberries, then this is the perfect plant for you. These berries are extremely fragrant and are considered to be more flavor-filled than all other types of strawberries. They grow excellent in zones 4 to 8. Although these berries don’t grow to be huge like some seen in the grocery store during the summer months, the flavor greatly makes up for the rather small size.

Golden Sentinel Apple Tree

If you are pressed for space or don’t want to deal with the maintenance involved with growing a full-sized apple tree, then you might like this variety. It is a cross between a Golden Delicious apple that is also crisp and juicy and perfect for zones 4 to 8. The beautiful part about this apple tree is that it produces a single stem and all the apples grow directly on this stem.

Valentine Rhubarb

I enjoy making jam, cobbler, and pie from rhubarb. I was thrilled when I came across this variety of rhubarb that grows to be a gorgeous ruby red color. The large stalks have a lower acid content than the green variety too, which makes them taste much sweeter. These plants can be grown in zones 4 to 9.

2

Hansen’s Bush Cherry

I love the idea of having an orchard full of cherry trees, but I know how difficult it is to keep up with maintaining them. This ornamental bush produces cherries that most people enjoy eating right off the shrub. The white blooms are replaced by red leaves in the autumn. You’ll need two plants in order to get fruit, since they aren’t self-pollinating. They prefer to be grown in zones 3 to 8.

Mock Orange

If you like the smell of orange tree blossoms, but don’t enjoy eating oranges, then you might go for this tree. It only grows to be around 6 feet tall, so it won’t take up much room. The large flowers are pure white and extremely fragrant. This hardy little tree grows well in zones 4 to 8.

If you’re looking for some new plants, then maybe one of these will interest you! Had you ever heard of any of these plants before reading this post?
